Multiple Intimidation alums ready for the big leagues

Intimidation Clothing has long been a supporter of Local MMA and up-and-coming regional mixed martial arts talent, and has sponsored many fighters who have made it to the national level. Among these fighters are Stipe Miocic, Jessica Eye, Brian Rogers, Daniel Straus, Cody Garbrandt, Donny Walker and more.

Adam Milstead MMAThree more fighters who have been sponsored by the Intimidation brand in the past are also nearing UFC-level status, and could potentially sign with the organization in the near future.

Fast-rising heavyweight Adam Milstead (7-1) has won seven straight bouts, and all have been via stoppage. After fighting through some injuries, “The Prototype” is now healthy and racked up back-to-back TKO wins earlier this year in under two minutes each. Undefeated at heavyweight, the Pittsburgh native continues to be a force of destruction, as his wins over Lewis Rumsey and Robert Morrow show why he could be in the UFC before long. With the Octagon headed to his hometown in February, Milstead could be a great candidate to make his UFC debut at UFC Fight Night 82.

Dan Spohn MMA - BellatorDan Spohn (12-4) has already tasted a bit of UFC success, as he was on The Ultimate Fighter 19 where he produced one of the sickest knockouts in show history in just 10 seconds as he stopped Tyler King in the preliminary round. Now back on the regional scene, Spohn has been dominant, producing a 4-0 record with three stoppage wins. The former NAAFS light heavyweight champion, “Dragon” recently took a calculated risk moving up to heavyweight where he captured the CFFC title with a second round knockout win over Zu Anyanwu in December.

Mark Cherico (9-1) says he’s retired, but the Intimidation alum continues to be active in MMA. After recently opening up a gym in his native Pittsburgh area, “The Pride of Bloomfield” continues to be incredibly popular in the area and could also be a perfect candidate for UFC Pittsburgh. Mark Cherico MMAMost recently, Cherico competed in what was announced as his last MMA bout, defeating Nate Landwehr via submission at Gladiators of the Cage 19 in October.

Pittsburgh fighters provide highly successful weekend for Intimidation at first Pinnacle FC event

December 30, 2012 by
Filed under Fighter Sponsorships, News, Sponsorships

Intimidation Clothing has made a concerted effort to break into the Steel City, and the final weekend of 2012 was a key cog in increasing brand recognition inside one of the biggest MMA hotbeds in the Mid-Atlantic area. Four fighters who were sponsored by the popular clothing brand picked up victories at the inaugural Pinnacle FC event, with three of those wins coming via stoppage. Intimidation was also a presenting sponsor of the inaugural Pinnacle FC and was in attendance selling its popular t-shirts, beanies, hoodies, and more.

Milstead, Steave & Cherico from Fight Club PittsburghIn the main event, featherweight Mark Cherico (3-0) extended his unbeaten streak, winning for the third time as a pro via rear naked choke in the first round. He moved his overall MMA record to 12-0, and a late opponent switch at weigh-ins the day before the fight didn’t affect his ability to pick up a win in front of his hometown fans over Ohio product Chris Dunn (2-3).

Adam Milstead (3-1) is now 3-0 since making the transition to the heavyweight division, and all three wins have come via stoppage. The Pittsburgh native stopped Bobby Gurley (2-3) with strikes in the first round, further cementing his place as perhaps the best heavyweight prospect in the area.

Anthony Durnell (12-4) has competed all over the world, but he had yet to compete in his hometown of Pittsburgh as a professional fighter. That changed on Saturday night, as he was able to give his hometown fans a late Christmas present with a unanimous decision over Kentucky product Jeremy Pender (8-6) in one of the evening’s more anticipated bouts.

And finally, fan favorite and Pittsburgh/West Virginia product Justin Steave (3-2) picked up his second win in a row, as “The Hawk” stopped New Yorker Amran Aliyev (1-1) with a rear naked choke in the second round. The popular fighter is now officially back over the .500 mark after a pair of highly disputed decision losses marred his early career.

Steel City by IntimidationPittsburgh products Mike Wilkins (2-1) and Khama Worthy (1-2) were also in action while sponsored by Intimidation, as all six sponsored fighters are products of Fight Club Pittsburgh, an official Intimidation dealer featuring a variety of the company’s popular styles.
