Intimidation Clothing is known as one of the fastest rising brands in the combat sports industry, and that will be on display yet again at the 2013 Arnold Sports Festival. Top ranked female MMA fighter Jessica Eye, Bellator knockout artist Brian Rogers, TUF 7 and Bellator vet Luke Zachrich, fast-rising undefeated bantamweight star Isaiah Chapman and Bellator vet and former NAAFS Champion Dan Spohn are all expected to be at the Intimidation Clothing booth #110 at the event at scheduled times during the three day event. Jessica Eye MMAThe 2013 Arnold Sports Festival will be held at the Greater Columbus Convention Center, at 400 North High Street, on Friday, March 1st through Sunday, March 3rd. Actual dates and times for each fighters’ appearance will be released at a later date online here at IntimidationMMA.com and will be announced on the Intimidation Clothing Facebook and Twitter accounts (@IntimidationMMA).

The #1 ranked female mixed martial artist in the world at 125 pounds, Jessica “Evil” Eye is not stranger to Ohio MMA fans, but her rise to national prominence has come after a thrilling submission win over Zoila Gurgel in December 2012. The quick submission of the former Bellator champion came in under a minute of cage time and put to rest many of the harsh words thrown her way by the outspoken Gurgel. A product of Strong Style Martial Arts in Independence, Ohio, Eye is 3-0 fighting for Bellator MMA and will be in action again in April in Atlantic City as she looks to continue her 6-fight win streak.

luke-zachrich_300Brian “The Professional Predator” Rogers, formerly known as “The Predator” for his post fight celebration, added the word “professional” to his nickname thanks to his former career as a special education teacher and his recent abundance of red carpet public appearances. In recent months the Bellator MMA middleweight walked the red carpet at the MTV Music Awards and at the World MMA Awards where his Bellator 61 flying knee knockout of Vitor Vianna was up for 2012 Knockout of the Year. Now 10-5 as a pro, The Strong Style Martial Arts product remains one of the most exciting middleweights in the sport today.

Known best for his time on The Ultimate Fighter Season 7, Luke Zachrich is a businessman, coach and professional MMA fighter. The owner of the Ronin Training Center in Columbus, Ohio, Zachrich has built an incredibly successful pro and amateur fight team since the gym opened in 2011as the gym has featured many big names to come through the door including UFC Welterweight Matt Brown and former NFL linebacker and Ohio State football star Andy Katzenmoyer. Before the UVC 20 win over Nick Kraus, Zachrich was last seen inside the cage at Bellator 16 in the quarterfinals of the Bellator Season 2 Middleweight Tournament.

Isaiah Chapman MMAThe owner of one of the most fitting nicknames in the sport, Isaiah “The Beast” Chapman is truly a beast at 135lbs. Training out of Rock Hard MMA and Unique Fitness in Akron, an official Intimidation dealer, Chapman is already a black belt in Judo, an accomplished boxer and was a decorated amateur wrestler. In addition to being on the winning end of the 2012 Ohio MMA Fight of the Year by OHMMA.com, Chapman was named the Intimidation Clothing Athlete of the Month for February 2013. He is slated to be back in action on March 30th in Canton for the NAAFS as he looks to improve on his 4-0 pro record.

Dan “Dragon” Spohn is just a few days removed from adding another win to his record as the 4-time Bellator veteran made his debut for the Columbus-based Ultimate Victory Challenge (UVC) promotion. Spohn has been sponsored by Intimidation in each of his fights for the past two years and along with Rogers was one of the sponsored fighters at the Intimidation booth at the Arnold Sports Festival a year ago. Now 7-3 as a pro, the former NAAFS Light Heavyweight Champion returned to teaching at Buckeye MMA and is expected to return to action before the summer as he looks to stay busy and once again get a shot at the big stage.

Intimidation Clothing Athlete of the Month: Isaiah “The Beast” Chapman

Sometimes a person just oozes star power and the potential for success can be spotted from a mile away. That’s the situation that unbeaten professional fighter Isaiah “The Beast” Chapman finds himself in. Isaiah Chapman MMANot only does he have a spotless professional record of 4-0, but he also went 12-1 in his amateur career and won the NAAFS national amateur series in the bantamweight division twice.

A decorated amateur wrestler who had multiple Division I scholarship offers, he decided instead to dedicate his life to mixed martial arts. Training out of Rock Hard MMA and Unique Fitness in Akron, Ohio, an official Intimidation dealer, Chapman is already a black belt in Judo and an accomplished boxer. At just 23 years old, the sky is the limit for Chapman’s fighting career.

What’s even better is that anybody who talks to Chapman comes away impressed with his poise, respect, and somewhat reserved nature, considering that he makes a living punching others in the face.

Chapman’s best tool, however, could be his resolve and his heart. He appeared to be down and out when put in multiple bad positions by the more experienced Dustin Kempf in his last outing at NAAFS Night of Champions in December 2012. Isaiah Chapman MMABut Chapman never gave up and eventually ended the fight just before the bell in the second round with a guillotine choke. Kempf appeared to have stopped the Chapman train before it ever really got started on a large scale, but instead “The Beast” showed that giving up isn’t in his DNA. For their performance, both fighters were honored with the Ohio Fight of the Year Award by OHMMA.com, and Chapman was named the Fighter of the Year for the perfect 4-0 start to his career that he rattled off in 2012.

As a result of the thrilling start to his pro MMA career, which includes three stoppages in his four fights, Isaiah Chapman is officially the Intimidation Clothing Sponsored Athlete of the Month for February 2013. “We are pleased to announce Isaiah Chapman as our Athlete of the Month,” stated Luke Jernigan, President & CEO of Intimidation Clothing, LLC. “Not only does Isaiah fit the mold of the kind of person Intimidation looks to sponsor, but he also has as high a ceiling as most anyone we have worked with here at Intimidation. We are honored to have worked with Isaiah since mid-way through his amateur MMA career and intend to sponsor him for years to come.”

Isaiah Chapman MMAThe Northeast Ohio product will return to action on March 30th, when he competes yet again for NAAFS at Caged Vengeance 13 in Canton, Ohio. While the fight is expected to be for the promotion’s vacant bantamweight title, no opponent has been announced to date.

Isaiah Chapman vs Dustin Kempf airs on SportsTime Ohio’s NAAFS Cage Fighting program Friday at 9 pm ET

The 2012 Ohio MMA Fight of the Year will air Friday night on the NAAFS Cage Fighting program on SportsTime Ohio (DirecTV Channel 662) and will be broadcast once again on Sunday night at 11 pm ET on STO. Isaiah Chapman MMAThe bantamweight bout between Isaiah Chapman and Dustin Kempf took place at NAAFS Night of Champions 2012, and both fighters were sponsored by Intimidation Clothing in the main event.

Both fighters entered the bout with a lot to gain and a lot to lose, as Chapman (4-0) was unbeaten and one of the top rated pro prospects in Ohio and Kempf (6-6) was making his debut at 135 pounds. The fight started out fast and continued that way, as Kempf appeared headed for a potential upset.

An excerpt from our write up the night of the event:

Entering the cage Kempf looked huge at 135lbs as the two traded shots. A thrilling 1st round saw the two trade punches and kicks at a frantic, crowd-pleasing pace. The sellout crowd of likely close to 2,000 or more screamed for both popular fighters and did not quiet down throughout.

In the 2nd round the pace did not slow as the two traded early, but Chapman soon trapped Kempf against the cage and unloaded a fury or punches, elbows and knees as Kempf covered up. After 30+ seconds of blocking and eating the shots Kempf escaped and eventually the fight went to the ground where Dustin attempted multiple submission attempts only to see Chapman escape. A triangle choke and armbar attempt appeared to have Chapman in trouble as Kempf then landed several elbow strikes to the head of Chapman causing blood to pour from his hairline. But Chapman was able to escape as the two returned to their feet late in the round before Chapman locked in a guillotine choke to force the tap with just seconds remaining in the 2nd.

Isaiah Chapman v Dustin Kempf Along with being one of the best fights in NAAFS history, the bout was also named the 2012 Ohio MMA Fight of the Year by OHMMA.com which came as no surprise to all who witnessed it. One fan stated “I stood up and continued to applaud after the fight because I knew I had just witnessed something great.”

Both fighters have worked with the Intimidation brand multiple times in the past few years and Chapman recently signed an expanded sponsorship agreement with Intimidation.
