Arnold Sports Classic highlights record shattering weekend for Intimidation Clothing

The Intimidation brand wrapped up the most successful weekend in company history on Sunday after an outpouring of support by fans from across the Midwest at the 2013 Arnold Sports Festival. Intimidation CEO Luke Jernigan with Randy CoutureFeaturing a booth stocked full of high quality lifestyle apparel and pro fighters signing autographs, Intimidation was a huge hit at the event which saw well over 100,000 people through the doors during the three day event. That was the case for welterweight Bryan Baker, a fighter newly sponsored by Intimidation Clothing for his welterweight semifinal at Bellator 90 last week. “The Beast” was on the wrong end of a night of exciting knockouts and finishes, as he fell to former tournament winner Douglas Lima in a bout where he entered as a late replacement. Chase Beebe Bellator MMAMeanwhile, over on XFC 22 on AXS TV on Friday night, Jason Hicks dropped a decision in the night’s main event. However, Jeremy Severn picked up a win on the XFC 22 preliminary card in Charlotte, North Carolina.

Intimidation Clothing is known as one of the fastest rising brands in the combat sports industry, and that will be on display yet again at the 2013 Arnold Sports Festival. Top ranked female MMA fighter Jessica Eye, Bellator knockout artist Brian Rogers, TUF 7 and Bellator vet Luke Zachrich, fast-rising undefeated bantamweight star Isaiah Chapman and Bellator vet and former NAAFS Champion Dan Spohn are all expected to be at the Intimidation Clothing booth #110 at the event at scheduled times during the three day event. Jessica Eye MMAThe 2013 Arnold Sports Festival will be held at the Greater Columbus Convention Center, at 400 North High Street, on Friday, March 1st through Sunday, March 3rd. Actual dates and times for each fighters’ appearance will be released at a later date online here at IntimidationMMA.com and will be announced on the Intimidation Clothing Facebook and Twitter accounts (@IntimidationMMA).

The #1 ranked female mixed martial artist in the world at 125 pounds, Jessica “Evil” Eye is not stranger to Ohio MMA fans, but her rise to national prominence has come after a thrilling submission win over Zoila Gurgel in December 2012. The quick submission of the former Bellator champion came in under a minute of cage time and put to rest many of the harsh words thrown her way by the outspoken Gurgel. A product of Strong Style Martial Arts in Independence, Ohio, Eye is 3-0 fighting for Bellator MMA and will be in action again in April in Atlantic City as she looks to continue her 6-fight win streak.

luke-zachrich_300Brian “The Professional Predator” Rogers, formerly known as “The Predator” for his post fight celebration, added the word “professional” to his nickname thanks to his former career as a special education teacher and his recent abundance of red carpet public appearances. In recent months the Bellator MMA middleweight walked the red carpet at the MTV Music Awards and at the World MMA Awards where his Bellator 61 flying knee knockout of Vitor Vianna was up for 2012 Knockout of the Year. Now 10-5 as a pro, The Strong Style Martial Arts product remains one of the most exciting middleweights in the sport today.

Known best for his time on The Ultimate Fighter Season 7, Luke Zachrich is a businessman, coach and professional MMA fighter. The owner of the Ronin Training Center in Columbus, Ohio, Zachrich has built an incredibly successful pro and amateur fight team since the gym opened in 2011as the gym has featured many big names to come through the door including UFC Welterweight Matt Brown and former NFL linebacker and Ohio State football star Andy Katzenmoyer. Before the UVC 20 win over Nick Kraus, Zachrich was last seen inside the cage at Bellator 16 in the quarterfinals of the Bellator Season 2 Middleweight Tournament.

Isaiah Chapman MMAThe owner of one of the most fitting nicknames in the sport, Isaiah “The Beast” Chapman is truly a beast at 135lbs. Training out of Rock Hard MMA and Unique Fitness in Akron, an official Intimidation dealer, Chapman is already a black belt in Judo, an accomplished boxer and was a decorated amateur wrestler. In addition to being on the winning end of the 2012 Ohio MMA Fight of the Year by OHMMA.com, Chapman was named the Intimidation Clothing Athlete of the Month for February 2013. He is slated to be back in action on March 30th in Canton for the NAAFS as he looks to improve on his 4-0 pro record.

Dan “Dragon” Spohn is just a few days removed from adding another win to his record as the 4-time Bellator veteran made his debut for the Columbus-based Ultimate Victory Challenge (UVC) promotion. Spohn has been sponsored by Intimidation in each of his fights for the past two years and along with Rogers was one of the sponsored fighters at the Intimidation booth at the Arnold Sports Festival a year ago. Now 7-3 as a pro, the former NAAFS Light Heavyweight Champion returned to teaching at Buckeye MMA and is expected to return to action before the summer as he looks to stay busy and once again get a shot at the big stage.

Weekend Recap: Intimidation sponsored pros impress at events in Columbus & Philadelphia

Along with being a title sponsor of the UVC 22: Mayhem event in Columbus, Intimidation Clothing was also a sponsor of all three professionals who were victorious at the event. Dan Spohn, Tim Dunn, and Isaac Steele all picked up professional victories to represent Team Intimidation well. In addition, Chris Dempsey picked up his second win in a row in Philadelphia.

Tim Dunn MMADan Spohn (pictured below, left) snapped a three-fight losing streak by submitting Chicagoan Rob Morrow in the UVC 22 main event with a rear naked choke. After showing off his counter punching in the first round, Spohn earned the takedown in the second and worked to take Morrow’s back to sink in the choke. Video of the fight is below.

After an 11-2 amateur career and being ranked the No. 1 heavyweight in Ohio, Tim “Fatboy” Dunn (pictured, right) made his professional debut at UVC 22 on Saturday night. With all of his “Fatboy” fans in attendance, he knocked out James Dishong in the first round to move his pro record to 1-0. Dishong looked good using his reach advantage landing his jab early in the fight, as the Ronin Training Center and Ohio Combat Sports product was also sponsored by Intimidation.

Isaac Steele capped off the night with a TKO victory over Tommy Roberts, as he moved his pro record to 4-0 and his overall record to 9-0 including his amateur career. Dan Spohn MMAThe Team Jorge Gurgel product looked great in his victory and despite being quite humble asked when his title shot will come in the post-fight interview. In addition, Intimidation sponsored multiple amateur fighters on the card including Corey Dulaney and three fighters from the popular Ronin Training Center in Columbus.

At XCC: Mayhem in Philadelphia, former collegiate All-American Chris Dempsey picked up his second straight win over Bellator MMA veteran Chris Wing. He moves up to 4-1 in his pro MMA career and looks to continue his winning ways.

“The Professional Predator,” Brian Rogers, was in also action at Bellator MMA 89 in the Season 8 Middleweight Tournament, but he was unfortunately unable to come away with a win against the tough Dan Cramer in Charlotte, NC. The highly motivated Rogers will undoubtedly be eager to step back into the cage in the coming months and will also be one of the select fighters signing autographs at the Intimidation booth at the 2013 Arnold Sports Festival.
