Comer (5-1) is set to take on Joey Holt (4-2) in a featured 155-pound battle. A former two-time NAAFS national amateur series champion in the lightweight and welterweight divisions, Comer is the only fighter to accomplish that feat in two different NAAFS divisions and is one of the top prospects in the Buckeye State with a 14-1 overall in his mixed martial arts career. Weekend MMA Recap: Intimidation excels again at Ohio & Michigan MMA events

Intimidation Clothing was busy as always this past weekend, with two events sponsored in two different states to close out a banner month of May.

MMA Promoter Matt Trukovich RFOIntimidation was on hand at RFO: Big Guns 13 in Mansfield, Ohio on Saturday night, selling gear at an official booth where promoter Matt Trukovich posed for a quick picture (right) on a busy night. The fight card produced as always, including a victory for All American J.D. Ramsey (3-0) in the night’s featured amateur bout. Ramsey, who is sponsored by Intimidation and trains with fellow Team Intimidation member and UFC veteran Branden Hinkle, kept his perfect record intact with a unanimous decision victory over the highly regarded Nick Stuff (6-2) in the amateur main event.

Intimidation was also on hand at the WXC 50 event near Detroit on Friday night, once again increasing the brand exposure in the state of Michigan. Fans packed inside the Southgate Civic Arena, many of them donning Intimidation gear and witnessing 15 amateur bouts on the night.

Intimidation alum Stipe Miocic was perhaps the biggest MMA star of the weekend, as the former NAAFS champion moved his UFC record to 6-1 as he stopped Fabio Maldonado via TKO in just 35 seconds in the main event at the TUF Brazil 3 Finale. The former Cleveland State wrestler and baseball player was sponsored by Intimidation in multiple fights prior to entering the UFC.

Weekend MMA Recap: Team Intimidation fighters earn wins at sponsored MMA events across the Midwest

It was a busy weekend for Team Intimidation across the Midwest, as multiple events and fighters were sponsored on a busy October weekend. Intimidation was on hand at multiple events over the weekend, including Akron, Detroit and two MMA events in Indianapolis, selling its popular brand of t-shirts, hats, hoodies, fight shorts, and more. The successful weekend saw several sponsored athletes victorious with the amateurs stealing the show.

Austin Tweedy MMAAt the Caged Madness 26 event in Akron, Ohio, Team Intimidation was on hand with a successful night, while sponsored fighters went 1-1 inside the cage. Professional heavyweight Tim Dunn (1-1) suffered his first defeat when the doctor stopped the fight with a cut in the first round. Jeremy Linville (2-1) landed a big punch on Dunn early in the fight, and the cut wouldn’t stop bleeding. Also at the Explosive Fight Promotions event, former Division II national champion wrestler JD Ramsey (2-0) remained unbeaten in his amateur career with a first round TKO victory. A disciple of Intimidation sponsored UFC veteran Branden Hinkle, Ramsey is one of the newest members of Team Intimidation.

The Indiana wing of the Team Intimidation crew had a busy weekend, as they were on hand at two Indianapolis MMA events beginning with the Midwest Fight Series: Friday Night Fights 5 event on Friday night. In one of the night’s featured pro bouts, Team Intimidation pro Austin Tweedy (3-0, pictured on right) stayed unbeaten with a 75-second submission victory over Kurstan Davenport (0-1). Dustin Parrish with Eddie BravoIntimidation was also on hand at the Art of War 8 event on Saturday night in Indianapolis, and Intimidation Clothing September Athlete of the Month Dustin Parrish (8-1, pictured on left with Eddie Bravo) had a slick debut in the lightweight division, as he took home a unanimous decision over Gary Widget (9-5). While Intimidation was seen across the Midwest, two high profile fights also saw the Intimidation brand on display thanks to the brand’s fantastic relationships in Cleveland and Pittsburgh. On Friday night’s Bellator MMA broadcast Justin “The Silverback” Wilcox scored a unanimous decision win in the semifinals to advance to the Bellator Featherwight Tournament final. Wilcox, who trains at AKA in California and Fight Club Pittsburgh alongside a variety of Intimidation sponsored fighters, was caught on the live Spike TV broadcast wearing an Intimidation beanie during warm-ups. Meanwhile, at CFA 12 in Coral Gables, Florida, Torrance “The Tyrant” Taylor, a long-time friend of the Intimidation brand, lost a close split decision for the promotion’s lightweight belt.

Intimidation Clothing to sponsor Justin Steave at inaugural Pinnacle FC event near Pittsburgh

Steave will look for his second win in a row when he takes on Amran Aliyev in a featherweight bout at the Icoplex in Cannonsburg just outside of Pittsburgh on December 29th. Intimidation sponsored Branden Hinkle inducted into West Liberty Hall of Fame

Intimidation Clothing sponsored fighter Branden Hinkle has been inducted into the West Liberty Hilltoppers Hall of Fame, as the longtime mixed martial artist excelled during his collegiate career at the West Virginia school.

Branden Hinkle was a rare two-sport champion during his time at West Liberty and the multi-talented athlete has carved out a professional career in a third sport after graduation.
Hinkle was an All-Ohio wrestler and All-Conference tennis standout at Jefferson (Ohio) Area High School during the early 1990s and continued to excel in both sports at West Liberty.
A three-time NAIA All-America wrestler, Branden was the 1995 NAIA national champion at 190 pounds and earned runner-up honors at 190 pounds as a senior in 1996. Hinkle also won a WVIAC tennis championship in 1995.
Hinkle continued to wrestle after graduation, earning U.S. national freestyle All-America honors and winning two Northeastern U.S. Freestyle titles before turning to mixed martial arts.
The former Hilltopper has fought all over the world during his lengthy pro career, winning the Korean heavyweight title and the World Extreme Fighting heavyweight crown along with the Reality Super Fighting light-heavy championship.
Still active in the light-heavyweight division, Branden lives in Steubenville, Ohio where he teaches youth wrestling and trains several MMA fighters. He is the son of Marsha and the late Jack Hinkle and has two sisters, Stacy and Jennifer.

It was yet another busy weekend for the Intimidation brand as the company sponsored several fighters from Indiana, Ohio, Pennsylvania and West Virginia at MMA events in Indiana and West Virginia. Also in attendance at the event was UFC Hall of Famer Mark “The Hammer” Coleman and Intimidation sponsored UFC veteran Branden “The Iron Lion” Hinkle (pictured with Intimidation CEO Luke Jernigan, right). Here is a look at Intimidation sponsored winners this weekend:

Carson Gainey – The natural flyweight scored another win at bantamweight at Absolute Cage Fighting in Indianapolis, Indiana. The win not only improved Gainey’s record to 9-10-1 as a pro but was also his second win over Darnell Davis (8-4) in as many fights.

Ruslan Khashkanov – Making his U.S. and Strong Style Fight Team debut Khashkanov faced a tough test fighting against long-time Intimidation sponsored Eli Garshnick. Khashkanov improved to 11-5 when two judges saw the fight 30-27 in his favor while the 3rd judge saw it 29-28 in favor of Garshnick, a product of Cold Steel MMA in Johnstown, PA.

Wes Lane – The crowd favorite and local product Wes “Limp Noodle” Lane stepped into the cage in the Charleston Civic Center for the second straight fight while sponsored by Intimidation and earned is second straight win in the process. Justin Steave MMALane (3-2 pro) is now 2-0 fighting as a bantamweight and could be looking at making some noise in the NAAFS 135 lb division considering the promotion has no pro series Bantamweight Champion.

Justin Steave – The 2010 NAAFS Amateur Featherweight Champion who won his pro debut was able to snap the two fight losing streak that followed. After a brief exchange standing Steave was able to take the fight to the ground and pound on his opponent until forcing the referee stoppage in the 1st round. Khama Worthy – Worthy, a product of PTT in Pittsburgh, bounced back from losing his pro debut in June with a 3rd round TKO win. Facing Cleveland’s Victer Crenshaw, Worthy emerged with a win for the Steel City to improve to 1-1 as a pro after winning the 2011 NAAFS Amateur Lightweight Championship.

Intimidation sponsored Justin Steave in action at NAAFS: Caged Fury 18 in Charleston, West Virginia

Intimidation Clothing is pleased to announce that sponsored pro featherweight Justin “The Hawk” Steave will be returning to the cage this Saturday night in Charleston, West Virginia. Steave, who fights out of Weirton, West Virginia and trains at Fight Club Pittsburgh along with other gyms in the area last fought at NAAFS: Caged Fury 17 in Morgantown, West Virginia where he was also sponsored by the Intimidation brand. The event, NAAFS: Caged Fury 18 takes place in conjunction with Butch Hiles’ Reality Cage Combat on Saturday night at the Charleston Civic Center in Charleston, West Virginia.

Justin Steave MMAJustin “The Hawk” Steave (1-2) went pro in 2011 after completing a 12-4 amateur career that he capped off by winning the 2010 NAAFS Amateur Featherweight title. Steave who also regularly trains with Intimidation sponsored UFC veteran “The Iron Lion”  Branden Hinkle, is one of several up and coming prospects from Fight Club Pittsburgh along with Intimidation sponsored Mark Cherico, Adam Milstead, Jason Cardillo, Mike Wilkins and more. Fight Club Pittsburgh is an official Intimidation dealer.

Steave will look to bounce back from a decision loss in April at the NAAFS event in Morgantown, WV. The 26-year old featherweight won his pro debut in July 2011 before dropping a short-notice fight at CFA 3 in the opening round of the CFA Featherweight Tournament in Miami, Florida. The Intimidation brand will also sponsor Eli Garshnick, Ruslan Khaskhanov, Wes Lane and Khama Worthy in pro fights at the same event.
