Weekend MMA Recap: Evans, Horne & Tickle score impressive wins sponsored by Intimidation

In a MMA busy weekend across the Ohio Valley, Intimidation Clothing was represented well, including events in Ohio, Michigan, and Kentucky. Multiple fighters picked up big wins while being sponsored by the brand, including a TUF vet, a title fight winner, and a potential future UFC star.

While veteran pro MMA fighter Eric Moon’s fight was scrapped at the last minute, TUF 15 veteran Chris Tickle (9-7) and new WXC welterweight champ David Evans (3-1) were both able to bring home wins for the brand. Tickle, pictured with TUF 15 teammate & UFC lightweight Daron Cruickshank, earned a dominant unanimous decision victory over Andrew Morais (3-2), receiving scores of 30-27 on all 3 judges’ scorecards. Evans picked up a win in the main event, outlasting the more experienced DeQuan Townsend (7-3) to earn a unanimous decision in the 5-round title fight.

Intimidation also sponsored the successful EFP: Caged Madness 31 event in Akron, Ohio. Multiple notables were in action, including Bellator veteran Robert White (4-1) in the main event. Multiple fighters who have sported the Intimidation brand in the past competed at the event, including Reggie Parks (3-2-1), Bellator veteran Dustin Kempf (6-8), and more.

And finally, longtime Intimidation sponsored fighter Billy “Mojo” Horne (15-4) racked up his fourth straight victory at Turf Wars 20 in Northern Kentucky, as he dominated Donta Wade (3-1) over 3 rounds to earn a unanimous decision in the main event. There have been rumors floating around that Mojo could be on his way to a national organization very soon.

Also in action was Team Intimidation’s own Kyle “Kyote” Rozewski as he made his pro boxing debut in Toledo, Ohio. While a decision did not go his way, Rozewski continues to focus on his upcoming training trip in China.

Amoussou, Hinkle headline 6-0 weekend for Intimidation sponsored pros at MMA & boxing events

Intimidation sponsored pro fighters in MMA and boxing scored an undefeated record this weekend at events across the USA. While Bellator 69 was playing out on MTV2 with Karl Amoussou in action in the semifinals of their Season 6 Welterweight Tournament in Louisiana, the Intimidation crew was at the first MMA event in the history of Charleston, West Virginia. A night after sponsoring Reality Cage Combat in Charleston, Intimidation traveled to Cleveland, Ohio, to sponsor Newhouse Promotions’ No Vet Left Behind boxing event and complete the stellar weekend.

Karl Amoussou – Fighting in the semifinals of the Bellator Season 6 Welterweight Tournament, Amoussou scored a split decision win over previously unbeaten David Rickels on MTV2 to advance to the Tournament final. Amoussou will face Bryan Baker in the Welterweight Tournament final expected to take place during the 2012 Summer Series.

Branden Hinkle – In a battle that featured a 14-year pro and UFC veteran versus a prospect, the experience won out as Branden Hinkle earned a TKO win in round 2. After his opponent weighed in at 218 pounds for their scheduled light heavyweight bout, Hinkle, while wearing Intimidation’s EliteFighter board shorts, punished Roane on the ground raining down with punches and elbows for the win.

Antonio Nieves BoxingWes Lane – The man nicknamed “Limp Noodle” with a sea of fans waving foam noodles throughout the night made sure those fans went home happy as he scored a TKO win. With the win Lane improves to 2-2 after a successful debut at 135 pounds.

Eric Moon – After taking the fight on just a couple days notice, MASH fight Team member Eric Moon scored a _ win. A fighter who has been sponsored by Intimidation many times in the past two years, Moon traveled from Michigan to West Virginia for the 170 lb fight which improves his record to 10-9-1.

Matt Garretson – After struggling at the start of his pro career, Matt Garretson picked up his first pro win at the Reality Cage Combat event. One of many from the Butch Hiles BJJ & MMA gyms across the region, Garretson sent the fans home happy after locking in a rear naked choke in the 2nd round.

Antonio Nieves – Rounding out the weekend for Intimidation was Antonio Nieves (pictured, right), a product of Strong Style Martial Arts and Old School Boxing, improved to 2-0 as a professional scoring a majority decision. Nieves has now fought both of his professional fights for Intimidation sponsored Newhouse Promotions which holds boxing events in Cleveland, Ohio.

Intimidation Clothing is pleased to announce their sponsorship of Eric Moon at Bellator 57 on Saturday at Casino Rama in Rama, Ontario, Canada. Moon, 9-7-1, is a products of James Lee’s MASH Fight Team out of the Detroit area and will make his Bellator debut opposite Indiana native Josh Shockley (7-1) in a lightweight battle on the night’s preliminary card. Moon will be seeking his 4th straight win in the fight which will air on Spike.com with live preliminary card fights beginning at 7 pm ET and the MTV2 fights beginning at 9 pm ET.

A 26-year old 155 pound fighter, Eric Moon and has fought many of his pro fights for the reputable King of the Cage promotion. The fight will be Moon’s 10th pro bout in 15 months for the active fighter as he takes on Shockley, whose lone loss came to Toby Imada at Bellator 36 in March 2011. Intimidation Clothing is pleased to announce that they will be sponsoring three professional fighters on Friday night at Gladiators of the Cage: The Road to Glory in Cheswick, PA, just 15 miles outside of Pittsburgh. The sponsorship of all three fighters comes along with the expected sponsorship of multiple amateurs on the card to further strengthen the Intimidation brand in the region. Intimidation has sponsored events in Johnstown, Indiana and Altoona in the past year as well as multiple events in Erie along with fighters from across the state of Pennsylvania.

Eric Moon, a pro since 2009, is 7-7-1 and will look for his 3rd win in his last four fights as he faces Tenyeh Dixon (7-6) in the night’s main event. Moon represents James Lee’s MASH Fight Team out of the Detroit, Michigan area.

Jeremy Carper (3-3) was scheduled to fight former WEC Lightweight Champion Jamie Varner in early May before the fight fell through at the last minute. With a perfect Muay Thai record of 5-0, Carper will face Neil Johnson (4-3).

Jeremy Kitts (1-2) of the Chillicothe Academy Of Mixed Martial Arts, will make the trip to the Pittsburgh area to face Antonio Castillo, Jr. (2-2) in the first of the three pro fights scheduled.

Intimidation Clothing continues to build their strong presence this weekend with two more fighter sponsorships in the state of Indiana. Detroit, Michigan native Eric Moon and Cincinnati, Ohio based Tony Parker will both be in action and sponsored by the fast-rising Intimidation brand.

Moon, a pro since 2009, is 5-6 and will look for his 3rd win in his last four fights as he faces Mike Pickett in a lightweight battle. The event, entitled Indiana vs. Michigan and held in South Bend, IN, has Moon representing the MASH Fight Team out of the Detroit, Michigan area.

Parker, a 7-5 pro from Team Vision in Cincinnati, Ohio, will be in action at the Anihilation MMA: Crossroad of Redemption event opposite Quartus Stitt in Lawrenceburg, Indiana. Parker will be in action for the first time since December after a June 2011 fight for the XFO fell through a week before the fight. The welterweight will be one of three sponsored by Intimidation at the event along with Cincinnati-based fighters Chris Bennett and Mojo Horne.

Moon, 6-6-1, will face local favorite Frank Caraballo (5-4). The fight with Caraballo, a veteran of Bellator 5 as well as six pro fights with the NAAFS, will be contested in the lightweight division, the natural weight class for both fighters.
