Intimidation Clothing has long been a supporter of up-and-coming mixed martial artists, and many of the fighters who have donned the popular brand in the past have found major successes on varying levels, including in the UFC, Bellator, and World Series of Fighting. Dan Spohn UFCIntimidation has sponsored hundreds of fighters in the company’s five year history, and has produced signature shirts for more than a dozen different athletes.

Most recently, here are the Intimidation alums who have seen success in the sport:

Dan “Dragon” Spohn (9-4) – After starring as a cast member on The Ultimate Fighter 19 and making his official UFC debut earlier this year, Spohn returned to his hometown of Columbus in November, where he moved his record to 3-0 fighting in Ohio’s capital with a first round submission over Michael Cockerham in less than a minute. Spohn, who hopes to make it back to the UFC in 2015 with another win or two, has been a member of Team Intimidation dating back to his fourth professional fight. Intimidation sponsored Spohn en route to his winning the NAAFS light heavyweight title, in his 9-second knockout win at Bellator 51, and his two recent fights for the UVC in Columbus. The Cambridge native is a black belt in traditional kachido akijitsu. Spohn now makes his home in Columbus and holds victories over UFC veteran Josh Hendricks, John Hawk and current NAAFS champion Josh Stansbury.

Josh “Sandman” Stansbury (6-2) – Stansbury is the reigning NAAFS light heavyweight champion and was also the amateur heavyweight champion for NAAFS in 2007. Most recently, he traveled to Colorado in November, where he won the light heavyweight title for Prize Fighting Championships with a first round submission win over Jeremy Osheim. Jessica Eye MMAStansbury was also a cast member on TUF 19, but he suffered an injury in his prelimary fight, which he happened to be dominating.

Jessica “Evil” Eye (11-2) – Eye is a current member of the fast-growing UFC women’s bantamweight division, but before she entered the Octagon she was Ohio’s most popular fighter. A longtime member of Team Intimidation during her early professional career, Eye became a fan favorite and is a pioneer for women’s MMA in the Buckeye State. Most recently, she picked up her first official UFC win with a TKO victory over Leslie Smith at UFC 180 in November. Intimidation released a signature shirt for Eye in 2012, and Eye is also the creator of the Eye Believe signature line of apparel, of which some stock remains through IntimidationClothing.com.

Hector “El Toro” Urbina (17-8-1) – Urbina is an Ohio native who now makes his home in Florida training with American Top Team. Urbina has been sponsored multiple times by Intimidation, and he is the former middleweight and reigning welterweight champion for the Intimidation sponsored NAAFS organization. He was also a cast member on The Ultimate Fighter 19, and he made his official UFC debut with a win over Edgar Garcia last month at UFC 180 in Mexico.

Mike “The Marine” Richman (18-5) – A former Bellator tournament finalist, Richman has now become the No. 1 contender in the organization’s bantamweight division with back-to-back knockout wins in bouts on Spike TV. Most recently, he stopped UFC veteran Nam Phan in just 46 seconds at Bellator 131 in November. Stipe Miocic UFCIntimidation sponsored Richman both in bouts for Bellator and in bouts that took place in his home state prior to his signing with Bellator. His next bout will be in March, when he faces former Bellator champion Eduardo Dantas for a likely title shot.

Stipe Miocic (12-1) – Miocic (pictured, right) is one of the sport’s top heavyweights, and he’ll be fighting for a title shot when he takes on former champion Junior Dos Santos in the main event at UFC on FOX 13 on December 13. Intimidation sponsored Miocic through his early pro career, when he was dominant on the regional scene winning the NAAFS heavyweight title.

Dustin “Bam Bam” Parrish (2-0) – Parrish, who hails from Indiana, boasted an impressive 9-1 record as an amatuer and is one of the fastest-rising stars on the Midwest MMA scene. Now training at American Top Team in Indianapolis, Parrish got his start in MMA after going to a local martial arts school just to take a break from wrestling. He is now 2-0 as a pro following a first round submission win over veteran Ryan McIntosh at LFC 55 in Indianapolis in November.

Cody “No Love” Garbrandt (5-0) – An Ohio native who regularly brings some of the biggest crowds to fights in his home state, Garbrandt recently signed with the UFC after posting 5 knockouts through his first 5 pro fights. He’ll make his Octagon debut at UFC 182 on January 3, where he will face veteran Marcus Brimage. Intimidation sponsored Garbrandt throughout much of his amateur and early pro career, and the Pinnacle FC bantamweight champion has become one of the sport’s biggest prospects since moving to California to train at Team Alpha Male with the likes of former WEC champion Urijah Faber and current UFC champion T.J. Dillashaw.

Dan “Dragon” Spohn impresses on debut of TUF 19 with vicious knockout (video)

Season 19 of The Ultimate Fighter began with a bang last night as well as a heavy Intimidation flavor. In a season featuring five Intimidation alumni, it was an action-packed premier featuring knockouts, injuries, a come from behind submission and a 3-round battle that will go down as one of the best TUF fights in history.

Dan Spohn MMA - BellatorKicking off the show was long-time Team Intimidation member Dan “Dragon” Spohn as he started things with a bang – literally. Just seconds into the fight Spohn landed a hard right on the ear of a charging Tyler King to score one of the fastest knockouts in the history of The Ultimate Fighter. “One of the nastiest knockouts I’ve ever seen in my life,” said former UFC Lightweight Champion Frankie Edgar.

Spohn (8-3) has been a member of Team Intimidation, dating back to his fourth professional fight. Intimidation sponsored Spohn en route to his winning the NAAFS Light Leavyweight Championship, in his 9-second knockout win at Bellator 51, and his two most recent fights for the UVC in Columbus, Ohio. The Cambridge native is a black belt in traditional kachido akijitsu. Spohn now makes his home in Columbus and holds victories over UFC veteran Josh Hendricks, John Hawk and current NAAFS Light Heavyweight Champion & now TUF 19 vet Josh Stansbury.

In a season featuring middleweight and light heavyweight fighters, Intimidation alumni and NAAFS vets Hector Urbina, Doug Sparks, Mike King and Josh Stansbury all had the chance to fight to get into the TUF 19 house. Urbina and King joined the cast as middleweights with Urbina (16-8-1), the former NAAFS Middleweight Champion and reigning NAAFS Welterweight Champion scoring a submission victory. Meanwhile, Mike King (5-0) a former NAAFS Amateur Light Heavyweight Champion won a 3-round decision in one of the best fights in TUF history. Meanwhile Doug Sparks and Josh Stansbury did not make it into the house for highly differing reasons. The always colorful and entertaining Sparks, who was sponsored by Intimidation at Local MMA fights in Ohio and Kentucky in the past, claimed to be half man and half polar bear in his typical off-the-wall way. However after removing his polar bear ears Sparks (7-2) was unable to get the wins falling via submission.

Meanwhile Stansbury (5-2), who was sponsored in his Bellator 71 win over Spohn in West Virginia, was impressive in battering his opponent before injuring his knee on a takedown.

The 16 winners were divided into two teams of 8 to be coached by former UFC champions B.J. Penn and Frankie Edgar. The finalists in the middleweight and light heavyweight division will then compete for a UFC contract at the live finale in Las Vegas on Sunday, July 6th.

The Intimidation brand is no stranger to the TUF house as the brand has worked with current UFC lightweight Daron Cruickshank (TUF 15) as well as TUF alumni Jason Dent (TUF 9), Luke Zachrich (TUF 7) and more. Intimidation was a sponsor of Jessamyn Duke (pictured, right) during her time on TUF 18 and recently signed TUF 18 and UFC alum Roxanne Modafferi.

Weekend Recap: Record weekend sees Intimidation sponsored pro fighters score big wins in Ohio, Indiana & Michigan

Intimidation Clothing has long been a staple on the Midwest MMA scene, and Saturday night that was evident once again. While the brand served as a main sponsor of both the NAAFS and Colosseum Combat MMA pro/am events in Ohio and Indiana, as well as an event in South Carolina, the brand sponsored fighters at each event as well as in Michigan. Jessica Eye & Eye Believe MerchandiseIntimidation continues to prove to be the biggest supporter of local MMA in the region as a benchmark was set at Saturday’s NAAFS: Fight Nite in the Flats IX event in Cleveland. At the event held at the Jacobs Pavilion in The Flats, all six winners in professional bouts were sponsored by the Intimidation brand. Those winners included #1 ranked female flyweight Jessica Eye (pictured, left), new NAAFS interim lightweight champion Torrance Taylor, UFC veteran Forrest Petz, rising lightweight star George Comer and more. Intimidation also had a record breaking night at its official booth which featured over 50 different styles of Intimidation products as well as gear from Jessica Eye’s popular EYE Believe brand along with Soulless Clothing, Headlock Gear and Victory Fight Gear.

Top ranked flyweight Jessica Eye returned to action for the first time since upsetting former Bellator women’s champion Zoila Gurgel in December, and the Cleveland native picked up her seventh straight win with a clear cut unanimous decision over veteran and Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu black belt Carina Damm. Also sponsored by Intimidation partner Cast Iron Supplements, Eye is one of the most popular fighters in Ohio and continues to be one of the faces of Intimidation Clothing. Meanwhile, Eye’s longtime teammate at StrongStyle Martial Arts, Forrest “The Meat Cleaver” Petz, announced his retirement from MMA after nearly 40 professional fights and two stints in the UFC. Forrest Petz vs Chris CurtisFans were treated to the last fight from Ohio legend as the veteran and fan favorite took home a gritty decision win over top prospect Chris Curtis in a 170-pound affair that was clearly the fight of the night.  Petz showed off his impressive boxing skills to take home a unanimous decision in his final appearance in the cage.

Torrance Taylor picked up his fifth straight victory and third TKO in less than a year, as he claimed the organization’s interim lightweight title with a fourth round TKO victory over Terry Blackwell. Taylor continues to be one of the rising stars on the Ohio MMA scene and mentioned after the fight his desire to make it to a larger organization in the near future. Now training extensively with the Strong Style Fight Team in Cleveland, Taylor seems poised to indeed take that step as he seemingly has really turned a corner in his career.

Lightweight George Comer continues to inch toward a potential NAAFS title shot, as the GriffonRawl product earned his third straight victory with a unanimous decision over Brian Camozzi in one of the evening’s featured pro bouts. NAAFS in the FlatsBoth fighters came into the fight with lots of hype, with Camozzi being the younger brother of the UFC’s Chris Camozzi and Comer training at GriffonRawl with UFC veteran Jason Dent and Donny Walker. But it was Comer’s wrestling that won the fight, as he imposed his will and stayed in control for the entire 15 minutes to take home a sweep decision win.

Other pro fighters sponsored by Intimidation on the card were Hector Urbina and Maxim Grishin as well as Terry Blackwell, Nick Duell and Brian Camozzi. Amateurs RJ Buck, Jerrell Hodge and Sammy Callari were also sponsored by the brand.

Along with sponsoring the NAAFS event, Intimidation also served as a sponsor for Colosseum Combat XXV in Kokomo, Indiana. One of the best-run organizations in the Midwest, Intimidation had another successful night as UFC and Bellator veteran Ryan Thomas picked up a win in the main event to earn the organization’s welterweight title while sponsored by Intimidation. Brett Sbardella MMAThomas, sponsored by Intimidation for the first time, picked up his 4th straight win to improve to 16-7 in his 7-year pro MMA career. Meanwhile, at Big John’s MMA in Northern Michigan Brett Sbardella (pictured, right) picked up a victory via arm bar just 37 seconds into his bout to improve his pro record to 5-2.

With two fighters scheduled to fight on MTV2 and four scheduled in total at Bellator 83, the national audience was able to see Intimidation from the comfort of their couch while fans at events in Toledo, Ohio, Atlantic City, New Jersey and Tulsa, Oklahoma all witnessed the brand up close and personal at local MMA events.
