Intimidation Weekend Recap: Parrish, Kerner & VanCamps impress at Art of War Tournament in Indianapolis

Intimidation Clothing continues to have a presence on the local MMA scene every week, and Memorial Day weekend was no different, as the Intimidation brand was on display at the Mad Wolf Promotions event as both a sponsor and vendor in Indianapolis. Art of War 6 featured the second round of the organization’s amateur tournaments, and four fighters who were sponsored by Intimidation were victorious on the night. Both Kameron VanCamp and Richie Kerner finished their opponents in impressive fashion while Kyle VanCamp also had his hand raised with a decision victory.
Meanwhile, Dustin Parrish (pictured with a young fan), perhaps Indiana’s best amateur fighter, was also sponsored by Intimidation in his latest victory as he scored a 2nd round submission win to improve to 6-0.
Intimidation-sponsored female fighter Tamikka Brents has heard enough about Fallon Fox and she’s ready to prove to the world that she will back up her words. The Top 10 ranked Brents said “I want the fight bad” in reference to Fox, a transgender fighter who has gained significant notoriety and attention while fighting for the CFA. Fox, who scored a 3rd round win on Friday night at CFA 11 over Allanna Jones on AXS TV, improved to 3-0 in her pro MMA career. Intimidation is a proud sponsor of Brents (2-0 pro) who is looking to add a notable win to her pro career and Fox seems like a great opponent for Brent as she climbs up the Women’s MMA rankings.
Intimidation is also gearing up for another busy weekend, as three events will be sponsored by the clothing brand in three different states. Top Ohio promotion NAAFS will hold its ninth annual “Fight Nite in the Flats” showcase, which is always one of the year’s biggest events in the Midwest. Intimidation will be on hand selling at the event, and will also serve as a title sponsor.
In addition, no less than nine fighters on the evening’s fight card will be sponsored by Intimidation, including No. 1 ranked female flyweight Jessica Eye, welterweight title contender Nick Duell, and both lightweight title contenders Terry Blackwell and Torrance Taylor, among others.
Intimidation will also serve as a sponsor for the Colosseum Combat XXV event in Kokomo, Indiana, and will be on hand selling its product at an official booth. Also, UFC and Bellator veteran Ryan “The Tank Engine” Thomas will be sponsored by Intimidation in the main event where he fights for the organization’s welterweight title. Intimidation Clothing will also sponsor and sell at the Conflict MMA presents “Fight Night at the Point 9″ event in Charleston, South Carolina.

Weekend Recap: Sponsored pros go 5-0 at UVC 23 as Intimidation sponsors events in Georgia, Indiana & Ohio

Unbeaten weekends for Intimidation sponsored fighters are not unprecedented in and of themselves, but having one event where all five pros sponsored by the brand pick up wins is pretty rare. But that’s exactly what happened at UVC 23: Invasion, which went down in front of a sold out crowd at the Aladdin Shrine Center in Columbus, Ohio on Friday night. In addition to the brand’s sponsorship of the UVC event, the fast-growing brand also sponsored Saturday’s American Grappling Challenge as well as Conflict MMA in Savannah, Georgia, and Chris Lytle’s Midwest Fight Series event in Indianapolis, Indiana.
UVC middleweight champion Luke Zachrich (12-2) returned to the UVC cage for the second time, looking to build on his August win over Nick Kraus at UVC 20. Zachrich completely dominated Marcus Finch (7-7) in a one sided fight, proving that he outclassed the Cincinnati native in every aspect of MMA. Zachrich showed in the first round that his grappling was superior, then to prove that he is well-rounded, he spent the entire second round boxing with Finch. The third frame saw Zachrich mix up his attacks, with boxing, kickboxing, wrestling, and jiu-jitsu all mixed in one. After the bout, an emotional Zachrich brought his wife and infant baby girl into the cage and expressed how hard it was to be away from them in preparation for training for this fight. He said that he wasn’t retiring for sure, but we may not see him back in the cage for a little while.
In the co-main event, longtime Intimidation sponsored fighter Dan “Dragon” Spohn (8-3) picked up his second win in a row in the UVC cage, as he submitted Aaron Mays with a slick belly down armbar in the first round. Spohn was victim to a takedown early in the bout, but the fighter formerly known as a pure striker showed off his submission game for the second fight in a row to pick up the win, and the submission of the night.
Lightweight Joe Heiland (9-2-1) made his UVC debut, as the Cleveland native picked up his third straight win with a split decision over Augusta Tindall in the fight of the night. Heiland appeared to be in trouble in the second frame after a flurry from Tindall, but he remained tough and took the fight to the ground where he had a clear advantage. After the bout, Heiland said that he had a broken jaw and that his mouth filled with blood in the second round, but he was still happy to pick up the win. He texted Intimidation CEO Luke Jernigan that “a true warrior pushes through” the pain which he proved inside the cage while getting the win.
Top bantamweight prospect Cornelius Godfrey (8-1) was sponsored by Intimidation for the first time, and he picked up a workmanlike victory over Corey Simmons (4-4) in his UVC debut. Now at Ronin Training Center in Columbus, Godfrey figures to be a force to be reckoned with on the Central Ohio MMA scene in the near future; if he isn’t contact by the UFC or Bellator first.
And finally, Matt “Angerfist” Anderson (1-1) picked up his first win as a pro, and in his first bout sponsored by Intimidation. The always entertaining fighter put on an exciting bout against Jeramy Karshner, eventually picking up the win via armbar in the second round. There is no doubt that “Angerfist” will be wearing the Intimidation brand well into the future as the combination of his fighting skills and personality are a fantastic fit for the combat sports industry’s fastest-growing brand.

Weekend Recap: Parks & Tweedy highlight weekend of growth in Indianapolis & Pittsburgh markets

Intimidation Clothing continues to grow in regions outside of its home base in Ohio, and this past weekend was proof of the growing reach of the popular clothing brand. Intimidation was live at events in Indianapolis and suburban Pittsburgh and posted yet another stellar weekend.
As part of its national sponsorship of Rocktagon events, Intimidation was live at Rocktagon 25, the organization’s debut in Indiana. Along with a massive night at the Intimidation booth, two sponsored pro fighters picked up quick first round victories. Lightweight Austin Tweedy moved his record to 2-0 with a first round verbal submission victory over Douglas Stapleton, while lightweight Reggie Parks (pictured) also moved to 2-0 with his second straight first round knockout victory. Parks continues his MMA comeback after taking the entire 2012 year off and making the move to Columbus, Ohio to train at Ronin Training Center. Also, amateur James Mogollon moved to 5-0 and claimed the Rocktagon Indiana lightweight title with a guillotine choke submission victory in the first round.
Intimidation also sponsored two fighters at the all-female Invicta Fighting Championships 5 event in Kansas City, but both Kaitlin Young and Jessamyn Duke unfortunately came up short and were unable to pull off victories on the night, but both repped the brand well as always.
All in all, it was another successful weekend for Intimidation with continued growth in both the Indiana and Pittsburgh markets that have seen booming increases in MMA over the past year. This weekend, Intimidation will be live at IT Fight Series 19 in Findlay, Ohio and will also serve as a sponsor for the event.
