Intimidation Weekend Recap: Tony Kelley remains undefeated as Intimidation sponsors events & fighters across the USA

Not a weekend goes by when the Intimidation Clothing brand isn’t being represented somewhere across the U.S., a testament to the size of the fastest growing clothing brand in mixed martial arts. This past weekend was no different, as Intimidation sponsored three events in two different states and Intimidation sponsored fighters went 6-2 in fights that took place in three different states.

Roning Fight TeamAs always, Intimidation was a title sponsor for the NAAFS: Combat Challenge 24 event, which took place on Saturday night in Akron. Intimidation fighters from the GriffonRawl Academy went 2-1 on the night, including a win by Joe Callari in one of the evening’s featured bouts. Josh Belle was also welcomed to the official GR fight team with a submission win in his debut. Evolve MMA’s Jon Looft along with Strong Style’s JT Miller and Mad Dog Fight Team members Tony Bonacci and Chris Varner also picked up wins at the event.

Intimidation also sponsored the ShoFIGHT event in Branson, Missouri, which was one of the nation’s biggest MMA events, as it took place during a block party in the popular destination town.

Intimidation sponsored fighters from Ronin Training Center went 3-0 at the Absolute Action MMA event in Florence, Kentucky, as Derek Morgan, Jamie Klein, and Vanessa Demoupoulos all earned victories at the event. Intimidation sponsored pro Luke Zachrich was also in attendance to promote his upcoming UVC 23 main event against Marcus Finch in Columbus, and the two were involved in a shoving match during their square off in the cage.

MTV “Caged” star Tony Kelley picked up yet another win, moving his professional record to 2-0. Sammy Smith Jr. was unable to pull off the win in the main event, as he dropped a heavyweight title fight to unbeaten opponent Chaz Morgan.

This weekend, Intimidation will serve as a title sponsor for the Rocktagon 25 event in Cleveland, Ohio.

Rick Hawn, Luis Nogueira score wins at Bellator 70 sponsored by Intimidation Clothing

Two Intimidation Clothing sponsored fighters scored the biggest wins of their MMA careers on Friday night at Bellator 70. Rick Hawn and Luis Nogueira both moved a step closer to a Bellator title as Hawn, while sponsored by both Catastrophe Inc. and Intimidation, won the Season 6 Lightweight Tournament with a unanimous decision win over Brent Weedman. Luis Nogueira MMAMeanwhile Luis Nogueira (pictured), a fighter sponsored in each of his past four pro fights by the Intimidation brand, scored a 3rd round TKO win over Hiroshi Nakamura to advance to the Bellator Bantamweight Tournament finals. Both fighters won their fights which were televised on MTV2.

Rick Hawk (14-1, 6-1 Bellator) was a 2004 U.S. Olympian who turned pro in Mixed Martial Arts in 2009, advanced to Bellator’s Season 5 Welterweight Tournament final where he lost a split decision to Jay Hieron at Bellator 43. Ten months later he made his lightweight debut at Bellator 62 knocking out Ricardo Tirloni then followed it with a KO of Lloyd Woodard at Bellator 66 in Cleveland. Hawn will next face Bellator Lightweight Champion Michael Chandler, likely during the Fall of 2012.

Luis Nogueira (14-2, 4-1 Bellator) who made his Bellator debut at Bellator 42 in April, scored a unanimous decision over Jerod Spoon before falling to Ed West at Bellator 51. The native of Brazil then bounced back with a win two weeks later at Bellator 53 and opened the Season 6 Bantamweight Tournament with a decision win over Alexis Vila at Bellator 65. Nogueira will fight Marcos Galvao in the finals of the Season 6 Bantamweight Tournament likely during the Bellator Summer Series 2012.

Amoussou, Hinkle headline 6-0 weekend for Intimidation sponsored pros at MMA & boxing events

Intimidation sponsored pro fighters in MMA and boxing scored an undefeated record this weekend at events across the USA. While Bellator 69 was playing out on MTV2 with Karl Amoussou in action in the semifinals of their Season 6 Welterweight Tournament in Louisiana, the Intimidation crew was at the first MMA event in the history of Charleston, West Virginia. A night after sponsoring Reality Cage Combat in Charleston, Intimidation traveled to Cleveland, Ohio, to sponsor Newhouse Promotions’ No Vet Left Behind boxing event and complete the stellar weekend.

Karl Amoussou – Fighting in the semifinals of the Bellator Season 6 Welterweight Tournament, Amoussou scored a split decision win over previously unbeaten David Rickels on MTV2 to advance to the Tournament final. Amoussou will face Bryan Baker in the Welterweight Tournament final expected to take place during the 2012 Summer Series.

Branden Hinkle – In a battle that featured a 14-year pro and UFC veteran versus a prospect, the experience won out as Branden Hinkle earned a TKO win in round 2. After his opponent weighed in at 218 pounds for their scheduled light heavyweight bout, Hinkle, while wearing Intimidation’s EliteFighter board shorts, punished Roane on the ground raining down with punches and elbows for the win.

Antonio Nieves BoxingWes Lane – The man nicknamed “Limp Noodle” with a sea of fans waving foam noodles throughout the night made sure those fans went home happy as he scored a TKO win. With the win Lane improves to 2-2 after a successful debut at 135 pounds.

Eric Moon – After taking the fight on just a couple days notice, MASH fight Team member Eric Moon scored a _ win. A fighter who has been sponsored by Intimidation many times in the past two years, Moon traveled from Michigan to West Virginia for the 170 lb fight which improves his record to 10-9-1.

Matt Garretson – After struggling at the start of his pro career, Matt Garretson picked up his first pro win at the Reality Cage Combat event. One of many from the Butch Hiles BJJ & MMA gyms across the region, Garretson sent the fans home happy after locking in a rear naked choke in the 2nd round.

Antonio Nieves – Rounding out the weekend for Intimidation was Antonio Nieves (pictured, right), a product of Strong Style Martial Arts and Old School Boxing, improved to 2-0 as a professional scoring a majority decision. Nieves has now fought both of his professional fights for Intimidation sponsored Newhouse Promotions which holds boxing events in Cleveland, Ohio.
