Intimidation Clothing sponsored BMX athlete Chris Peterie put on one of his best performances of the year in a recent trip to Nebraska from his home state of Oklahoma. Chris Peterie BMXThe 16-year-old has been on the rise since signing on with Intimidation last year.

A recent update from Chris:

This weekend I participated in the Cornhusker Nationals event race in Lincoln, Nebraska. In the first round on Saturday I qualified in my cruiser class (24″ tall wheel) to the main with a second place out of five riders. In two round they take two of the top riders from each round in that moto behind Taylor Riedemann.

In my class race (20″ tall wheel) I qualified first out of five riders to a semi main. In my semi main for class I got the far outside gate which was gate 8. After I came out of the I took a quick glance to my left to see my position into the first turn and in the first turn I got pushed up by a rider on the inside of me and I was forced to take the pro section jumps (more advanced jumps). When I took the pro section advanced my position from 7th to 5th and was right behind the 4th place rider and the last qualifying spot. Heading into the rhythm section I tried to stay as smooth as possible and was about to make a move into 4th when a rider with more momentum came under me on the inside and passed me and took 5th from me. I tried hard but didn’t have the speed nor the momentum to pass him back.

In my cruiser main I blasted out of the gate trailing Taylor Riedemann into the first turn. I trailed Taylor around the whole track breaking away from third and fourth.

On Sunday in cruiser one kid didn’t race so there was only four racers, so in the first round I came behind Taylor. In class I didn’t qualify the first round because I spun out in the gate and could only salvage a third. In the second round I had redemption on my mind and dominated both class and cruiser with a first place finish. In my semi the same exact thing happened just like on Saturday. I was very disappointed in class. In cruiser I got in the gate next to Taylor and were close the whole way around and I finished behind him by less than two bike lengths. Overall it was one of my better weekends I’ve had for a while especially in cruiser.

Despite crashing prior to the final main races at the USA BMX Sooner Nationals during the last weekend in January, Intimidation Clothing sponsored BMX athlete Chris Peterie still put on a valiant performance in his hometown of Tulsa, Oklahoma. Chris Peterie BMXThe 16-year-old has been on the rise since signing on with Intimidation last year.

A recent update from Chris:

Over the weekend of January 24-26th I raced at the USA BMX Sooner Nationals in my home town in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Friday night I raced 16 expert and 16 cruiser as I made the mains in both classes. In the main for my cruiser bike I was a little late on the reaction out of the gate and got second by less than a bike length. On my class race I got 4th out of 8 riders after I got pushed up high in the first turn back to 6th.

On Saturday I raced 3 classes 16 cruiser, 16 expert and 15-16 open. I made it to the main in open and cruiser the first round and qualified for the semi main for class in the second round. In the semi main I had to race 5 nag 10 riders (national age group) and two national riders (out of all the riders out of all the nation) I came in 7th after I made a move in the second turn. In my mains I came in 5th in open and in cruiser I came in 5th also.

On Sunday I raced all three classes again, I came in one spot from qualifying in in cruiser class and open in the first round. In the second round I qualified for my open. In cruiser I crashed in the first turn when a rider slid out on the inside of me and clipped my back tire causing me to hit the turn hard, I managed to still qualify for the main.
