Weekend MMA Recap: Santos scores KO of the Year in Brazil while Intimidation crews continue growth in Michigan & Pennsylvania

Intimidation Clothing closed out March with one of the busiest months in company history, sponsoring multiple events and fighters in different states. The month began as strongly as any month in company history, with two top-tier MMA promotions – Driven MMA & Colosseum Combat – kicking off the month in style, and ended with Pinnacle FC capping off a great month and with a KO of the Year candidate from Luis “Sapo” Santos at XFCi 3 in Brazil.

Jerrell Hodge MMAIntimidation was  a sponsor for the PinnacleFC 6 event in Pittsburgh, along with co-main event winner Rob Hanna (4-0) and amateur main event winner Jerrell Hodge (11-1). Hanna survived an early onslaught from Intimidation alum Joey Holt (3-2) to eventually produce one of the biggest comebacks in recent MMA history after nearly being knocked out. Hodge (pictured, right) closed out his amateur career with yet another title to go along with his two NAAFS titles and EFP title, as he claimed the PinnacleFC featherweight title with a dominant three-round performance over Rich Cantolina (10-7).

While Intimidation was represented in Pittsburgh by Out of the Cage Clothing, the newest Intimidation dealer in the Steel City, Intimidation Clothing’s Michigan Distributor were also on hand in Jackson, Michigan for the Prison City Fight League. The all-amateur event featured 25 ammy fights including 5 belt fights and 3 contender fights with an impressive night of sales for the crew that is making waves for the Intimidation brand  in the state of Michigan.

Meanwhile, with the focus in the USA for Intimidation being in Michigan and Pennsylvania, the International focus was on the fast-rising XFCi promotion. An affiliate of the Intimidation-sponsored Florida promotion televised regularly on AXS TV, the XFC continued it’s recent success in Brazil with one of their most high-profile fighters, Luis “Sapo” Santos (pictured, left), in the night’s main event. Luis Santos vs Shamar Bailey - XFC 23Santos, a Bellator MMA vet and multi-time XFC vet as well, scored his 60th career professional win to improve to 60-9-1 with a front kick KO in the 3rd round of the night’s main event that is an early candidate for KO of the Year.

Two of the most respected local MMA media outlets have joined forces, as BluegrassMMA.com has acquired OHMMA.com. Originally covering separate markets in Kentucky and Ohio respectively, both outlets had expanded to cover Indiana, Tennessee, West Virginia, and Western Pennsylvania. Now, the two sites will be together under the same umbrella, which will all be housed at BluegrassMMA.com.

Weekend MMA Recap: Hogans wins pro debut while Intimidation sponsors fighters & events in Minnesota, New York, Ohio & Pennsylvania

Intimidation Clothing had a massive showing on the last busy weekend of mixed martial arts action for the 2013 calendar year, with fighters sponsored in four states including two events sponsored in their home state of Ohio.

Ryan Hogans MMATeam Intimidation was live on hand at the “NAAFS: Night of Champions 2013″ event in Akron, where Tuff-N-Uff champion Jessica Zomcik signed autographs at the official Intimidation booth throughout the night. The event featured the crowning of 7 new champions in the NAAFS National Amateur Series, including Evolve MMA’s Jerrell Hodge, Instigator Fight Team’s Seth Shaffer, lightweight Nick Browne, Strong Style Fight Team’s J.T. Miller, and more. Miller was one of several fighters sponsored by Intimidation on the night in Akron, Ohio.

The Intimidation crew was also live at the latest TNT Fight Series event near Buffalo, where the brand served as a title sponsor along with having an official booth. A massively successful night at the booth saw the company continue their strategic growth plan in the state of New York while sponsored amateur fighter David Whitman dropped his bout by decision.

Intimidation Clothing moved through the holiday weekend and into the first weekend of December with one of the most successful weekends in recent memory, including two fighters winning high profile fights and a successful event in the Steel City.

“The Pride of Bloomfield” is ready return to the cage in early 2014 and continue his unbeaten streak, but before he fights again he will first make another appearance close to home. Mark Cherico MMAAt Wednesday night’s Pinnacle FC’s Pittsburgh Challenge Series 5 event in Canonsburg, Pennsylvania, Cherico will sign autographs for the fans at the Intimidation booth at intermission. Intimidation Clothing released the Marck Cherico signature tee (pictured on Mark, right) in July which will be on sale at the company’s booth along with the women’s Cherico tank top.

After being named as the “best fighter in Pittsburgh” in 2012 by StandThemUp.org, Chercio scored two wins in late 2012 and two more in 2013 to improve to 5-0 as a pro. His most recent fight is easily his most impressive as he scored a 2nd round TKO of 2-time UFC veteran Donny Walker (18-10) on June 29th at Pittsburgh Challenge Series 3. Cherico will busy throughout the night as several of his Fight Club Pittsburgh teammates will be in action.
