Intimidation Clothing is pleased to announce the sponsorship of Luis “Betao” Nogueira in his Bantamweight Tournament final bout at Bellator 73 in Tunica, Mississippi.
Nogueira, a pro since early 2008, has started his career at 14-2 (4-1 Bellator) having won 10 of his past 11 fights defeating Alexis Vila and Hiroshi Nakamura en route to a date in the Bellator Season 6 Bantamweight Tournament final. The Bellator 73 event will take place on Friday night at Harrah’s Tunica Hotel & Casino in Tunica, Mississippi, with the MTV2 broadcast beginning at 8 pm ET and the prelims aired live on Spike.com.
Nogueira, who made his Bellator debut at Bellator 42 in April, scored a unanimous decision over Jerod Spoon before falling to Ed West at Bellator 51 in the first round of the Season 5 Bantamweight Tournament. The native of Brazil then bounced back with a win two weeks later at Bellator 53 and opened the Season 6 Bantamweight Tournament with a decision win over Alexis Vila at Bellator 65 and scored a 3rd round KO of Hiroshi Nakamura at Bellator 70. In his 14 professional wins Nogueira has scored 5 KO/TKOs, 2 submissions and 7 decisions. A member of Brazil’s Renovacao Fight Team, Nogueira and his teammates train in the USA at Thunder MMA & Muay Thai in Muskogee, Oklahoma, and official Intimidation dealer.
A win in the tournament final over Marcos Galvao (12-5-1) would give him the chance to avenge his only other pro loss coming to Bellator Bantamweight Champion Eduardo Dantas in 2008.

Rick Hawn, Luis Nogueira score wins at Bellator 70 sponsored by Intimidation Clothing

Two Intimidation Clothing sponsored fighters scored the biggest wins of their MMA careers on Friday night at Bellator 70. Rick Hawn and Luis Nogueira both moved a step closer to a Bellator title as Hawn, while sponsored by both Catastrophe Inc. and Intimidation, won the Season 6 Lightweight Tournament with a unanimous decision win over Brent Weedman.
Meanwhile Luis Nogueira (pictured), a fighter sponsored in each of his past four pro fights by the Intimidation brand, scored a 3rd round TKO win over Hiroshi Nakamura to advance to the Bellator Bantamweight Tournament finals. Both fighters won their fights which were televised on MTV2.
Rick Hawk (14-1, 6-1 Bellator) was a 2004 U.S. Olympian who turned pro in Mixed Martial Arts in 2009, advanced to Bellator’s Season 5 Welterweight Tournament final where he lost a split decision to Jay Hieron at Bellator 43. Ten months later he made his lightweight debut at Bellator 62 knocking out Ricardo Tirloni then followed it with a KO of Lloyd Woodard at Bellator 66 in Cleveland. Hawn will next face Bellator Lightweight Champion Michael Chandler, likely during the Fall of 2012.

Marcos Galvao and Luis Nogueira both stepped into the Bellator cage on Friday night with their sights set on winning the Season 6 Bantamweight Tournament and both left the cage one fight closer to that goal. Marcos Galvao began the MTV2 televised portion of the Bellator 65 event in Atlantic City, New Jersey with a decisive unanimous decision beating Ed West.
Meanwhile, in the second fight of the night, Luis Nogueira outpointed Season 5 Bantamweight Tournament finalist Alexis Vila in another unanimous decision.
The Brazilian-born Galvao is a BJJ black belt and is a Grapplers Quest Pro Division Champion, five time Brazilian National Champion and a two time World Champion. Galvao, a pro since late 2007, improved to at 11-5-1 winning for the fifth time in his last seven fights including a decision win over Chase Beebe at Bellator 51 in September.

While the 6th season of Bellator MMA events began on Friday night in Hammond, Indiana, Team Intimidation (#TeamIntimidation) prevailed as one of the biggest winners. Sponsoring four fighters on the card including two Featherweight Tournament participants, the Intimidation brand was not only highly visible, but even more successful.

3-time UFC veteran Sean McCorkle picked up a win in his Bellator debut at Bellator 60 in Hammond, IN.
On the televised card Featherweight Tournament participants Daniel Straus & Mike Corey earned wins on MTV2, both by unanimous decision. Straus (18-4, 4-1 Bellator) topped Jeremy Spoon (12-1, 2-1 Bellator) for his 14th win in 15 fights while Corey, a member of Team Curran MMA near Chicago, improved to 12-2-1 in defeating Ronnie Mann (21-5, 3-2 Bellator). Meanwhile, on the undercard, Super Heavyweight Sean McCorkle improved to 16-2 (1-0 Bellator, 1-2 UFC) with a 1st round neck crank submission win and Genair da Silva scored a 3rd round TKO victory.
Intimidation will be seen on national TV once again on MTV2 on Friday, March 16th as Brian “The Predator” Rogers takes on Bellator Season 5 Middleweight Tournament finalist Vitor Vianna at Bellator 61.
