UFC on FOX sees four Intimidation alumni with big opportunities in front of them

UFC on FOX 16 goes down Saturday night in Chicago, and four alumni of the Intimidation brand are all in action on the MMA world’s biggest stage. Jessamyn Duke, Daron Cruickshank, Ben Saunders and Jessica Eye each have big fights, each in their own way. Kicking off the night’s card for the Intimidation Clothing alumni is Jessamyn Duke, fighting in the night’s 2nd fight. Duke (3-2) faces off with Elizabeth Phillips (4-3) as she fights for her job after losing 2 straight following a win in her UFC debut. Intimidation sponsored Duke in her first three professional MMA fights, all under the Invicta FC banner, and released the Jessamyn Duke signature tees during her time on the popular TUF 18 program.

Daron Cruickshank, a member of the UFC’s roster since the beginning for 2012, will step into the Octagon for the 12th time on Saturday night as he looks to improve his 6-4-1 UFC record. Now 16-6-1 overall, Cruickshank faces James Krause (21-7, 2-3 UFC) as he looks for his first win after a No Contest and loss in his past two fights. For Ben Saunders, a second chance with the UFC has proven quite successful thus far. After an impressive 4-3 record in the UFC from 2007 to 2010, Saunders was cut and later signed with Belator MMA. Now back in the UFC after a 7-3 stint with Belator MMA, Saunders looks for a 3rd straight win inside the Octagon.

Finally, the biggest fight of Jessica “Evil” Eye’s career serves as the night’s main event at UFC on FOX 16. At 1-1-1 her UFC record does not scream title shot, but in a thin division looking for rivals to take on Champion Ronda Rousey, Eye’s match-up with Miesha Tate could be everything she needs to vault her into the national MMA limelight. Intimidation Weekend Recap: Awesome lives up to the name winning his 11th National Championship while Intimidation alums impress at UFC on FOX

Wrapping up the last weekend of the first month of 2014, Intimidation Clothing has set itself up for yet another banner year. Cam F Awesome - BoxingIntimidation sponsored boxer Cam F. Awesome won yet another national title, while Intimidation alums impressed inside the Octagon at UFC on FOX 10 in Chicago.

After a career year in 2013, U.S. amateur boxer Cam F. Awesome kickstarted his 2014 campaign and a run toward the 2016 Olympics with his 11th national title in Spokane, Washington. The plant-based, vegan boxer continued his run as the most decorated amateur boxer in U.S. history.

At UFC on FOX 10 in Chicago, a pair of Intimidation alums put on impressive showings with the most important victories of their respective careers. First, Michigan native Daron “The Detroit Superstar” Cruickshank picked up his fourth UFC win in six outings, as he finished Mike Rio with a spinning wheel kick that was followed by some punches before the referee jumped in. Stipe Miocic UFCNow 4-2 in the UFC and 14-4 overall, Cruickshank was sponsored by the Intimidation brand in 5 fights prior to his appearance on TUF 15. Meanwhile, in the night’s co-main event, Ohio native Stipe Miocic continued his climb up the UFC’s heavyweight ladder, as he battered former title challenger Gabriel Gonzaga for three rounds to earn a unanimous decision victory. Jernigan joins host Ryan McGehee during the 6-8 p.m. program to discuss the latest happenings in the world of Mixed Martial Arts including a look ahead at Saturday’s UFC on FOX and upcoming Bellator MMA events. In addition Jernigan will take a look at the local MMA scene for fans in Northeast Ohio and Western Pennsylvania and update the listening audience on local fan-favorites Brian Rogers, Jessica Eye, Mark Cherico and more.

UFC on FOX 5 participants have Intimidation flavor

Three fighters with a history of working with Intimidation Clothing were in action at the UFC on FOX 5 event over the weekend, with two of them picking up impressive knockout victories.

Lightweight Daron Cruickshank (pictured, left) went 5-0 on the regional circuit while being sponsored by Intimidation, and the member of James Lee’s MASH Fight Team from Detroit got his break when he was selected as a cast member for The Ultimate Fighter Live in 2012. After making it into the house on TUF, Cruickshank was then invited to compete in the UFC after the season was over. He has since racked up a 2-0 record inside the Octagon, including a unanimous decision over Chris Tickle at the TUF Live Finale and a fantastic head kick knockout over Henry Martinez at UFC on FOX 5. Cruickshank grew up with a father who holds black belts in multiple martial arts and a mother who was a professional kickboxer. He wrestled in college at Olivet College in Michigan and currently teaches kickboxing and appeared on on MTV’s Bully Beatdown in early 2011.

Lightweight Marcus LeVesseur was sponsored by Intimidation in three bouts in 2011, where he just happened to go 3-0, earning him a spot in the UFC. A four-time Minnesota state champion wrestler, LeVesseur also won four Division III national championships while wrestling for Augsburg College in Minnesota.
