Brenneman, Garshnick and Lapsley score finishes in unbeaten weekend for Team Intimidation

It was an unbeaten weekend for Team Intimidation, as pro fighters sponsored by Intimidation Clothing capped off a 3-0-1 stint with 3 stoppage victories and a draw. Charlie Brenneman MMAWins came from UFC veteran Charlie Brenneman and Eli Garshnick at VFL 40 in Eastern Pennsylvania, and Bellator/ShoXC veteran Anthony Lapsley at Rocktagon MMA in Cleveland, Ohio.

UFC veteran Charlie Brenneman (pictured, right) was sponsored by Intimidation for the first time, as the 8-time UFC veteran began his road back to the Octagon in a new division in the VFL 40 headliner in Altoona, PA. The fan favorite stopped Eric Irvin with a rear naked choke in just over 2 minutes, proving that Intimidation and “The Spaniard” are a tough combo to beat. Now fighting at 155lbs, Brenneman improved to 16-5 as a pro and is expected to return to action again soon.

Also on the VFL 40 card, longtime Team Intimidation member Eli Garshnick (pictured, left) also earned a first round submission, as he tapped Donald Crawford Jr. at 2:49 in the first round with a keylock. The native of Johnstown, PA east of Pittsburgh got back on track with a win after suffering a close split decision loss in his last outing and improves to 9-5 overall in his pro MMA career.

Eli Garshnick MMAAt Rocktagon MMA 23 in Cleveland, Anthony “The Recipe” Lapsley (pictured, bottom, right) continued his hot streak by submitting Gerald Meerschaert with a rear naked choke in just over 2 minutes. The Bellator vet has now won 8 of his last 9 bouts, with his only loss coming via a disputed submission to eventual tournament winner Jay Hieron at in Bellator. Meanwhile, “The Recipe” is 2-0 sponsored by the Intimidation as the brand continues to expand their name with Indiana-based fighters.

And finally, Cory “The Irish Car Bomb” Mahon (10-5-1) fought to a 28-28 draw against Cody Stevens in the Rocktagon MMA main event in Cleveland as an illegal upkick was the difference in the fight.

Intimidation Clothing is pleased to announce its sponsorship of 8-time UFC veteran Charlie “The Spaniard” Brenneman in the main event at VFL 40 in Altoona, PA. Charlie Brenneman MMABrenneman (15-5), who is from nearby Holidaysburg, is set to take on Missouri native Eric Irvin (5-1) in front of his hometown fans at the VFL event on January 19th.

Brenneman posted a 4-4 record in the UFC from 2010-2012, and is most famous for stepping up on a day’s notice to take on Rick Story in Pittsburgh in 2011. Brenneman posted wins over Jason High, Amilcar Alves, Rick Story, and Daniel Roberts during his UFC career and will be fighting for the first time since receiving his pink slip after a loss to Kyle Noke in September. Still viewed as a top prospect in the sport, Brenneman will be sporting the Intimidation brand as he makes the cut to 155lbs to join the lightweight division and begins his ascent back to the UFC in 2013.

Eli Garshnick tops Joey Kirwan in VFL main event in Altoona, Pennsylvania

Eli “The Switch” Garshnick is back. The middleweight sponsored by Intimidation entered as an underdog against  Bellator vet Joey Kirwan in the night’s main event at VFL 35 in Altoona, PA on Saturday night. While the scheduled title fight did not have a belt on the line after Kirwan could not make weight, it didn’t slow Garshnick down as he scored a 3rd round rear naked choke for the submission win to improve to 7-4 as a pro.
